The official “power sector at a glance” page, dated 13 July and updated 14 July, also lists a 17,201 MW maximum generation record, 18,816 circuit-kilometres of transmission lines and 91,512 MVA of grid-substation capacity.
A broader capacity definition
The Power Division snapshot uses a system-wide capacity figure that includes captive and renewable energy. Narrower plant tables can produce different totals because their scope differs.
Maximum generation
The page lists 17,201 MW as the maximum generation achieved on 20 May 2026. A record output is not the same as ordinary available supply throughout the year.
Network scale
The snapshot lists 18,816 circuit-kilometres of transmission lines and 91,512 MVA of grid-substation capacity.
